Gerald Pot

I met Gerald Pot, a fine, well-respected, alphorn maker two years ago a the North American Alphorn Retreat (http://www.salzburgerecho.com/seminars.html). He is a terrific fellow from the french-speaking part of Switzerland and he has a radical new design for the alphorn. A four-piece horn. If you have every travelled on a plane with an alphorn you know how clumsy and challenging it can be. The three-piece horn will fit in some overhead compartments (the overhead units with two flip-up doors on one large compartment work great). This four-piece horn will be soooo much easier to travel with. His work is beautiful, too. See Mssr. Pot build his horn at: http://www.alpinehorn.com/en/home.html

Thank you UU of Greensboro

I had such a pleasant evening sharing my limited knowledge and limited talents on the alphorn with the wonderful folks at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Greensboro, NC. They have a series of Wednesday night services called "Expressions" exploring the connection of the arts and spirituality. Check them out at: http://www.uugreensboro.org/index.php
